Foreman Grill Sandwich Recipes

One of the great things about the George Foreman Grill is its ability to make restaurant-style grilled sandwiches  Those delicious sandwiches you pay top dollar for at popular delis and restaurants are available to make for a fraction of the price and in the convenience of your own kitchen. Panini sandwiches, “melt” sandwiches, Cuban sandwiches and more! The back hinge of the Foreman Grill allows the top plate to sit higher up so you can grill a sandwich with ease.

Usually all you need is to spread some butter, margarine or olive oil on the outside of the bread and place it on the grill. Pressing down gently on the top of the grill for a few seconds also presses all the ingredients together nicely. You can also use cooking sprays to spray the outside of the bread. A quick brush with olive oil seems to work the best though.

You can also make some deluxe versions of your favorite sandwiches such as Grilled Cheese Deluxe of ham and cheddar deluxe my adding some fresh sliced tomatoes, bacon, dijon mustard, horseradish, sprouts, etc. Make the sandwiches with any of these ingredients and you’ve got an easy and delicious meal. The kids will LOVE the grilled ham and cheese sandwiches or grilled cheese with bacon!

So don’t limit using the Foreman Grill just for steaks or chicken at dinner time. Try making a delicious grilled sandwich!

    Just bought a George Foreman grill tonight and it is the six person grill. It said the rear hinge is adjustable to accommodate sandwiches, which to me is like making a panini. I attempted a grilled cheese sandwich and when I closed the top down and let it cook, it smooshed and flattened the two slices (sandwich) of bread thinner than one slice of white bread. It was literally slap and only burned around the edges of the bread it did nothing to the center but leave it soft. But never toasted or got golden. As the directions in your grilled cheese recipe, I left in on 3 minutes.

        Bought mine and in the mail searching for recipes agree one hundred percent about bread it is important..the bread maker is going to get alot of use too I see. U must have the right butter. I use Grassland.

      You’re supposed to use a firm or crisp bread like Italian or sourdough. Not white bread

    I made my first grilled cheese sandwich with regular whole wheat bread that is of normal thickness. I was wondering if a thicker bread slice would work?

    Thanks for your reply. I never saw anywhere that I wasn’t supposed to use white bread. I returned the Foreman heap of metal and bought a Farberware and it’s wonderful. I make sandwiches and grilled cheese with white bread all the time. The Farberware is a much better quality and made better. It actually supports the top when it comes down so it’s not killing the bread.

    I just made a Rueben using Seeded rye bread. Buttered one side of each slice, put hot pepper mustard on the inside to build, then added craut, corn beef, and pepper jack cheese ( I like it spiced). Set my grill on 425 and 8 minutes I had a sandwich out of this world.. I love my George Foreman Grill and Broil.

    I use just regular sunbeam white bread to do my grilled cheeses and they come out toasted and perfect.i very lightly spread a small amount of butter on the outside of bread.But i always spray the grill with canola oil before placing sandwich.on it veing smushed just try to gently lower the lid so it doesnt smash your sandwich.

    Just got home with my new Faberware 4 in 1 grille and hoping to make some pressed Tortas aka Tampa Cubans. This thing looks like it will get the job done, if not I’ll use it for something else. I chose the 4 in 1 due to it’s size as my counter space is limited.

    Don’t forget it has to preheat for 8 min first. Perhaps you forgot that step when you made your grilled cheese? FYI the manual does not recommend cooking spray because it says over time it will leave a sticky residue.

    I made a panini on my Foreman grill, but the outside turned out hard and over-cooked, while the inside of the bread was a soft/mushy under-cooked. The press was also, so heavy that half the cheese got squished out and went to waste. Any tips? Oh, and what do the numbers 1-20 mean on the grill? Is that a timer or heat setting?

    Okay, what about if you do not have the regular one, but you have the 300-425 selectable version? There is no low-med-high. I meanI can guess it would be about 350-375 but I know how to spell “assume”.
