Line the grill with aluminum foil. Little or absolutely no cleanup necessary.

Use parchment paper. Works really good with hardly any cleanup

I just learned an easier way to clean the George grill! Spray the grill with water, put the lid down and turn it on for a minute or two. Wait til it cools then wipe it out with a paper towel. Easy, Peasy!!!

I found best way is right after you are done cooking

  3. David H - January 28, 2015 at 4:24 pm Reply

I use a wet paper towel and it comes right off. It’s easier to do it then and not wait. When it gets dried on its tougher to take off. When you clean it right away it can be done in 1-2 minutes.

So my george foremen grill only has no heat dial and cooks on both sidès is it still ok to cook brats and do i still need to rotate since top cooks it as well?

    • Karla H. - January 27, 2024 at 4:50 pm Reply

I agree David H. When cleaning my George Foreman, nothing works better than a slightly damp paper towel when you’re done grilling. It wipes right off. Also, if you don’t clean it every time, it leaves a nice char on fresh meat, kinda like a barbecue grill wood with a little bit of char.

i used this trick this am and it was perfect.
First, you must spray oil the grill before cooking.
For easy clean-up I let it cool, then put a wet paper towel in it, close it, let it sit for about a TV show and it wipes right out.

After grilling steaks, hamburgers, etc. and I wait too long, so that it has dried on, I use a SOFT bristled toothbrush to get into the nooks and crannies of the grill plate to get the food off. It has worked very well for me and does not scratch the grill plate. You don’t have to put any muscle into it, just an easy circular motion does the trick.

What I do if I wait too long or pass out over nite be cause I got full on awsome G. F. food.I just plug it in opened up till the stuff turns to liquid again.paper towel it rite off duh!

    • Robert Orahood - February 22, 2017 at 8:50 pm Reply

I have waited quite a while before cleaning my grill (like all winter). I just heat up my grill for at least 5 minutes, then I squirt the grill with water from a spray bottle, and the steam loosens the dried “mess” and the force of the stream often is all I need to get it completely cleaned! At times, I don’t even need to wipe!

  6. claus wall - April 4, 2015 at 10:15 am Reply

Many years ago, I bought the small original grill. I have now bought the red cover grill that has a temperature slider. In all your recipes I cannot find any information on when to set the preheat to MIN – MIDDLE or MAX.
Can you include that in your recipe descriptions in the future and if available, can receive an email with that information now?
I will never use the extra plates for waffles, since I do not eat those, but I very much appreciate that the grill plates are removable and a quick wash of the cold plates in a sink with dishwater detergent and a soft sponge cleans the plates immediately.

Best way i found to clean it after it’s dried for awhile is to plug it in and use a damp wash cloth… once you notice it’s getting real easy to wipe off unplug it before it gets too hot to touch.

    • Rose horner - October 6, 2016 at 11:56 am Reply

I pour little dish soap on while hot let hot water run over it and using paper towel wipe it off. It comes clean really fast.

I recently purchased the Evolve which has adjustable temperature in 25 degree increments. There is a chart in the manual for times for type of food being cooked but not temperature settings. This is a serious oversight and leaves one to have to experiment. Please post a new chart that is useful so I don’t have to return for a refund.

    • Mike - May 26, 2015 at 7:14 pm Reply

I agree. The manual should have temperature settings since that is a major selling point for the Evolve line.

      • PWT - August 28, 2015 at 7:47 pm Reply

I just bought the EVOLVE at Costco, and can’t find any information on temperature settings–in the manual or on-line. I can only guess that after it Preheats, it defaults to 300 degrees…and that is the correct grilling temp? In what case would one raise the temperature? I’m a first time user and so confused. Does anybody know?

    • Judy - January 5, 2018 at 2:38 pm Reply

I have the big red Evolve premium grill with interchangeable grills. Temperature settings are listed on the front underneath side of the lid rather than in the manual. Strange, I agree, but that’s where they are. My take is they are a bit on the high side. Plan accordingly.

How would these grilling times translate to the outdoor George Foreman grill? Similar, or longer- since it isn’t cooking on both sides at the same time? I just bought one and can’t wait to get started !! There was no booklet at all in the box….

Can you cook frozen steak on these grills?

  12. Karen - July 15, 2015 at 7:40 pm Reply

Serious flaw not to include basic temps and cooking times for the outdoor grill I just purchased very disappointed as I had an older indoor grill and it came with a booklet has anyone found an answer for this?

  13. Regina page - July 30, 2015 at 6:57 pm Reply

I usually throw my meat on frozen. The steaks always come out super moist and perfectly cook. To clean, I leave it plugged in, wipe what I can off then drizzle water over the cooking surface. This usually “washes” off the rest of the juices and helps to loosen any stuck on bits. I then wipe the grill again. I have one of the older family sized round models and not the newer ones with temperature control.

Anyone ever try chicken wings of the foreman? Just got the 180

  15. William Sureck - October 27, 2015 at 6:40 pm Reply

How I clean a Foreman grill: I use a (cotton or cotton blend) cloth scrap to wipe the plates….with dampened paper towel for the final wipe. I use nearly 100% vinegar in a spray bottle to dampen the cloth/paper towel…this seems to cut the grease better, and I feel this also somewhat sanitizes the plates. If the grease on the plates is cold, I heat the grill for a few minutes to soften the grease and other debris. This method has made the cleanup much easier for me.

  16. David - November 11, 2015 at 1:50 am Reply

I use Grease Proof Paper. Cut to size , enough to cover top and bottom of food and the front side open so that the fat can still run away, and place at bottom of grill. increase cooking time by 1 to 2 minutes, still browns ok and keeps the food from drying out….Exellent

Is the grilling surface on the GFO3320 indoor/outdoor grill removable? Can you bake, say, a casserole in it with the lid on?

  18. Scott - April 27, 2016 at 1:36 pm Reply

The best way I have found to clean it is right after I am done cooking. I take a wet sponge and squeeze the water all over the bottom surface. It begins to steam then I close the lid while it is cooling down and that steam releases everything. Then I take the same sponge and wipe down all the surfaces adding water where I need to. Then wipe it up with a paper towel and put it away. Too easy.

  19. Elena - April 30, 2016 at 5:42 pm Reply

Put paper towel and pour vinegar on paper towel. Let it sit for a little bit and all stuck on grime comes tight off.

Is there a place for recommendations of temperature and time for anything ? I picked a GRP95, because it has a timer, never dreamed there would be NO information provided with it, There are no temps on the chart or recipes on line that we can find. Our old small Hamilton beach had a nice little booklet, but was one temp. If anyone has had any response to questions like these previously posted your help would be appreciated.

Just getting used to my new GF grill, EVOLVE GRP4800, so happy to have one that has grill plates that come off for easy cleaning! The last 3 I’d owned were very difficult to clean w/o moving the mess around the kitchen counters.

    Anyway . . .

Getting ready to use the other grill plate accessories and my girl and I got to wonder, . . .
Can the pan attachment can be used for marinating and go directly from the fridge to the grill???
(This would be awesome for doing meal prep the night before to have going right after work)

    Anyone???

  25. C - September 18, 2016 at 6:08 pm Reply

Those of you who are looking for grill times – just do a search for George Foreman Grill Times and several choices will pop up. I have the original GF grill and once grilled veggies and fruits just to see how they’d come out, guessing at times based on time to cook frozen hamburger patties (5-7 min). Had a platter full of yummies. of course, grilled pineapple was the best of those! To clean – after I remove the food I immediately toss on a couple of plenty moist paper towels and unplug it. After the meal I just wipe it off, then wash the grease off with regular dish soap. I want to try the vinegar spray mentioned above, tho.

I purchased the GF GGR50B grill (5.31.17). There is absolutely no information about what temps or times for foods. This site show how long to cook meats, but no info onw what temp to use. I assumed that if a grill offers multiple temps then are there different temps for different foods? Are all foods to be cooked on high?

  27. Joyce A Miller - July 1, 2017 at 6:38 am Reply

I have the round patio grill with dome lid. When doing steaks (t-bone) do I have to turn them over for cooking.

I have the gray indoor/outdoor round George Foreman and am somewhat disappointed. It was super easy to assemble etc., but came with no cooking instructions! Tried a fresh 1/2 in steak on preheated grill set on #4 temp. Cooked steak 7 min one side and 6 the other. Very very rare!! Also steak was somewhat unappetizing gray and seriously lacking in “grilled” taste. Small single burger GF grill does better than this! I noted there was a chart online, are times given per side or total cooking time???

After I’m done cooking cleanup is easy. Before I warm the grill up I rub the cooking surfaces with olive oil. I also rub chicken with olive oil and my chicken always comes out moist and tender.
