Grilled Pineapple on Foreman Grill

Easy Grilled Pineapple on a George Foreman Grill

One of the best fruits to grill is fresh pineapple because it is sturdy and is shaped perfectly when sliced into rounds or cubes. Grilling brings out the inherent sweetness in the pineapple, the natural sugars caramelize on the outside, while the flesh remains firm and juicy beneath the charred grill marks.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole fresh pineapple

Instructions

  • Preheat the Foreman Grill to 375° F.
  • Meanwhile, cut the top and bottom off of the pineapple. Then, slice the skin and eyes off of it.
  • Either slice into 1/2″ rounds or cut off the core and then into 1” cubes or pyramids to skewer.
  • Place the rounds or skewers, not touching each other, on the hot grill and close the top.
  • Check after 3 minutes for char marks. You may need to cook a minute or so longer.

Notes

  • You can make the pineapple really come to life by marinating it for a few minutes in a mixture of any or all of these: Rum, Lime juice, Soy Sauce, Honey, and Melted Butter.
  • Another popular way to grill pineapple is with a light dry rub coating of a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon.
