Delicious Grilled Portobello Mushrooms on a Foreman Grill

Portobello mushrooms are the steaks of the vegetarian world. They are meaty, dense, and sturdy enough to hold up when grilled with a deep earthy flavor. Check out this amazing Grilled Portobello Mushrooms Recipe below.

Ingredients

  • 2 whole portobello mushrooms stems removed
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil EVOO
  • sea salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat the Foreman grill to high.
  • Coat the mushrooms in olive oil, salt, and pepper on all sides.
  • Grill stem side down with the top closed for 4 to 5 minutes, depending on the thickness of the mushrooms.
  • See the Portobello Mushroom Burger Recipe below for delicious way to serve them.

Notes

  • You can slice the mushrooms first and then grill them. This will take less time. I find that sliced, grilled mushrooms are very nice served atop a creamy parmesan polenta.
